[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley Leap, turn, twist, leap again... this 'shortcut' was proving more strenuous than Revan had anticipated. Of course, though, Arsa just had to choose a whole mountain to meet up on, for the view no less, he assumed. It did make him wonder how Arsa had climbed his way up here, perhaps there was an easier route that Revan was too stubborn to find. Trot, hop, a big leap... it wasn't as if he couldn't handle this terrain perfectly fine. The slope was moderate, with plenty of ledges and cliff-side game trails to navigate. Revan paused his mountaineering to look over the forest below. He was well above the treeline and the grass had faded out, though a keen eye could still spot the clumps of dry foliage tucked away in the rocks made by pika, curious little rodents. Beyond the forest were rolling hills of plains and grasslands, and even further beyond was the setting sun, casting a golden light on the mountainside and Revan's copper fur. Clouds gathered on the horizon, and he could only imagine the spectacle of colors that was soon to come.
The lithe man set off again, placing his paws carefully at a lengthy stride. He'd have to hurry if he wanted to share that marvel in the sky with his most excellent companion, and not to mention, share with him the idea of -- oh fuck loose rocks! He scrambled to the nearest ledge, pulling himself up just as gravel and flat slate went sliding down the slope. Revan glared over the edge at the murderous rocks. Tch, the audacity... He turned, and to his right was a well-worn trail twisting around large boulders, but a much gentler and less ragged slope nonetheless. So there had been an easier route...oh well, that was no matter now. Revan was quick to catch the trail of his friend and followed it quickly at a bouncy trot. For once, he actually felt eager, maybe...excited. He didn't have to wait long. The trail sloped up just a little more, and the rocks opened up into a plateau-like ridgeline, stretching a good way into the mountain before gradually sloping up again. Along the ledge lay the glorious sight of tawny fur, brightened by the sun.
"There you are." Revan spoke. His flat tone made it sound more accusatory, perhaps, but the faint smile placed on his lips and his relaxed stride said something different entirely. He approached the man at a calm walk, circling around his flank and seating himself right at his side; a position he'd always assumed since they had met. The thought tugged at the corner of his lip even more, but naturally, he hid it well. "I'm quite glad to see you," Revan said, ruby-red eyes glinting in the sun as he gazed over the valley.

[googlefont=Montserrat:400,800|Cardo:400][nospaces] we're all just stars colliding imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsastarscolliding"]Ochre eyes were set alight by the dimming, dazzling light of the sun. Everything was bathed in orange and the warmth that touched Arsa’s fur felt soft and comforting, for once not characteristic of the hot pressure brought on by humid air. He could breathe, the cool wind of the higher elevations helping immensely in pushing away the bothersome hot breeze. Evening was falling over the valley and just as he and his best friend had promised, he was already at their agreed-upon place to rendezvous… even if he was a little early. Well, more like he had been waiting at this place all day. Half of his eagerness stemmed from his love for scenic views, which was why he had chosen these mountains in the first place, even if he could sense Revan’s disgruntlement from time to time for having picked such a place. The thought made him smile fondly; sometimes he wondered why he chose to tolerate his antics.[break][break] The other half was simply because he was looking forward to seeing Revan again. It had been an admittedly short (and uneventful) few days since their last convening, but there had been enough of an empty gap that Arsa was feeling the pangs of loneliness again. While they had only met in this spot a handful of times, enough time was spent here that he couldn’t help but consider it a safe place that he could associate good feelings with. He could revel in the sentiments, enough to a point where he could blindly call this place home, but after the high of the fantasy faded and reality cemented, he'd hesitate, afraid to admit that he would probably never be able to. As a loner who has devoted himself to not one singular entity—but everyone simultaneously—a part of him now believed that a place to call home was far out of reach. And while he sat there idly, someone was likely out lost in the throes calling for help. His help. He could not settle. Not yet.[break][break] “There you are,” came a voice, immediately relieving Arsa of his thoughts that felt slowly suffocating. His muscles instinctively relaxed. He hadn’t even realized they were seized up. Turning his head to meet his best friend’s familiar ruby eyes, his own sparkled as he watched him take a seat beside him, reminiscent of the countless times before. Revan said that he was glad to see him, to which Arsa closed his eyes for a moment to let his words sink in. They were so simple yet meant so much to him. He turned his eyes back to the horizon where the sun set lower as it cast its final loving light, and he basked in what warmth it still had left. “As am I,” he affirmed softly. “I have missed you.” The words fell from his mouth as naturally as water over a ledge and he meant every one of them. There was not a day where they rendezvoused he didn’t anticipate like some impatient pup. And with his presence now at his side again, he felt better composed.[break][break] “How have you been?” asked Arsa after a moment. He always found it easy to become enveloped in the silence that so naturally, comfortably, fell over them whenever they were around one another. “Have you caused any more trouble?” The little jest felt natural too, followed by a gentle smile that flashed his pearly incisors. He glanced over to the side cheekily while doing so, without fully moving his head, to catch Revan’s reaction in his peripheral vision. Since the man had accompanied him, he was able to feel lighter; Revan’s own light was able to push away the shadows of his doubts, even if just for a little while. we're after the same happily ever after [newclass=.arsastarscolliding b]color: white; font-weight: 800; text-shadow: 1px 1px 2px black, 0 0 0.5em white;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding i]color: #666f75; text-shadow:1px 1px 3px black, 0 0 0.5em black;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding u]color: #aaa[/newclass]

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley "I have missed you."Arsa said.
Red eyes flitted to his friend, before all of the sudden Revan became oddly interested in something to the opposite side. He didn't understand how anyone could miss him, hadn't it always been a relief when he was gone? He didn't understand the heat rising in his cheeks, either. But... "I've missed you, as well." Maybe he could understand that. In those few days that he'd been away from Arsa, he'd gone back to his hateful self - brooding about his past, stalking the shade of the forests, the usual pang in his chest; from loss, or from want? And then, even after the trek up this mountain, when he saw that familiar figure waiting for him, wanting to be with him, it all seemed to disappear. He trusted him, Revan thought, he could relax...
Revan turned his head back towards Arsa then. A soft look seemed to entrance his eyes as he gazed at the dirt between them. What was he doing here, sitting straight and readied, with his tail guarded around his flank? He was with Arsa, now, in this place they had shared before, where nothing had bothered them and nothing would. He did trust Arsa, he knew, he trusted him with his life, he could relax.
Exhaling softly, Revan shifted, and lowered himself down to lay next to his friend. Resting on his elbows, he even went so far as to kick one hind leg out laxly. For now, he gazed out over the valley, with the sun glinting in his crimson eyes. It just barely warmed his chest and forelegs, and with some relief, Revan imagined the cool, crisp air of night that would soon wash over them.
"How have you been?" Arsa broke the silence, though his words didn't break Revan's focus on the horizon. Without hesitance of words, he replied, "tired, morose, alone," he could probably continue listing off troubles, but in this moment, none of them concerned him. "But now," ruby eyes finally shifted, gazing at Arsa as warmly as the sunset they watch. "I'm alright." His voice, whilst low and gruff as usual, held a certain note of fondness. "And you?" He quickly asked, reminding himself to be courteous. He did care, after all, he found himself truly invested in hearing about Arsa's few days, in fact. Had he been alright? Had he eaten enough? Had anyone bothered him? Oh, if anyone bothered him, Revan would--
"Have you caused any more trouble?" It was as if Arsa had read his mind, sensing whatever violent ideas he'd been imagining. It was so perfectly timed that Revan couldn't hide his amusement. "Hmph!" He huffed, closing his eyes as a smile touched them. "Well, I haven't caused any fights as of late," he said through a smirk. "I believe it to be a new record." Revan attempted to return the jest. Though his humor was typically dry, or jokes flew right over his head, sometimes he did know how to share good humor, and with Arsa he found himself especially capable. It just felt... natural, was the best word he describe it as.
"Mm," he hummed softly, bringing his eyes back to the sky before them. Yellows and oranges were fading to sweet pinks and purples. Stunning, and it reminded him of Arsa - at least, that there was something he wanted to tell him. "There is something I'm eager to share, however." He began, a smile still present on his calm expression as he awaited his companions response.

[googlefont=Montserrat:400,800|Cardo:400][nospaces] we're all just stars colliding imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsastarscolliding"]The voice of his best friend came softly (as it could be) as he reciprocated his words. He had missed him as well. Arsa couldn’t contain a flicker of the ears as they fell backwards momentarily before he straightened them again, containing the sentiment that welled up in his chest. He kept his face forward and still, the only indication of his reaction was in the way his dull eyes sparkled. They moved from the horizon from one side of his peripheral vision to the other, and a familiar shape in the sky caught his attention, just over Revan’s dark muzzle. He did a barely perceptible double-take and felt a surge of excitement in his bones as he made eye contact with the white shape of the gibbous moon that hung far over the skyline, contrasting brightly against the background of waning light.[break][break] Arsa stared for a moment, entranced by its gentle glow and the way it seemed to attract the stars that were finally awaking from their slumber. But Revan’s head dipped down below his line of sight followed by quiet shuffling, causing his eyes to cast down. He felt his chest sink with relief upon seeing him get comfortable. Feel comfortable, enough to almost completely let down his guard. He gave his previous question a sullen response, to which Arsa could only stare sorrowfully. He knew such were common for his companion and he couldn’t help but feel guilty. Not for asking, but for not being there — as clingy and perhaps unrealistic as it sounded. Had he done something wrong in the past? Did he do too much? Was what he was doing right now not enough?[break][break] Arsa’s face tensed as troubling thoughts crashed against the walls of his mind one after another, but then Revan spoke again. Now, he’s alright. All the beige man could do was continue to gaze down at him solemnly, in a moment of silent solidarity. Revan returned the question, to which his ears perked up. He was quiet for a second or two, but he didn’t have to ponder on an answer. “Alright.” he nodded with a soft smile, his tone sincere. While not wholly a lie, it wasn’t fully the truth. But, he felt there was no rhyme or reason to delve into the details. Those didn’t matter right now.[break][break] Revan closed his eyes and hmphed, a reaction Arsa watched fondly. He said he hadn’t caused any fights as of late, which made him quirk a brow amusedly. He was going to make another jest but Revan made one of his own. A new record huh? The man chuckled, and though it was a faint sound, his broad shoulders bounced gently. “How scary.” he teased while nudging his wrist against his voluminous, spiky mane, mindful not to disrupt its shape; just barely touching it.[break][break] As he placed his paw down he decided to join his best friend, carefully lowering onto his belly, finding a comfortable spot on his elbows and sprawling his hind legs out so that he was mirroring Revan’s position. He left not an inch of space between them as his back pressed against his, with not too much pressure but enough that he hoped Revan felt just as much comfort.[break][break] His ochre eyes looked up and even higher to notice the cirrus clouds that moved in overhead, absorbing the vibrant colors of the sun that now just barely peeked over the horizon. They looked so close — as if climbing only a few more feet would get them lost within their delicate ice crystals.[break][break] “There is something I’m eager to share, however.” The statement had Arsa’s undivided attention as he looked over at Revan curiously. That was certainly new to his ears, something so interesting that it even captured his sullen companion’s interest? It was apparent he was listening intently, now suddenly very invested, himself. What thought had him smiling? we're after the same happily ever after [newclass=.arsastarscolliding b]color: white; font-weight: 800; text-shadow: 1px 1px 2px black, 0 0 0.5em white;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding i]color: #666f75; text-shadow:1px 1px 3px black, 0 0 0.5em black;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding u]color: #aaa[/newclass]

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley "Alright." Revan couldn't help but offer a low glance over his shoulder, not exactly looking up at the man at his side, but enough to show he was curious. Just alright? He knew he had used the exact word only moments before, but...just alright? Had he been expecting something more in this moment? Was it concern that caught his mind, or the ideal that he was the only body with any melancholy? Perhaps he was just a hypocrite, so rather than asking further, he turned his head back to the view before them with a low sigh. He thought, it was so easy to trouble his mind, and he absolutely hated it. 'Don't ruin this, you bastard.'
A soft, ever-so-slight touch to his nape, and he couldn't help but feel lighter as he smiled again. "How scary." Said his companion, provoking another huff from the dark man. He opened his mouth to reply, some attempt at humor on his mind, but he quickly shut it as he caught Arsa moving in the corner of his eye. Pointing his muzzle to the side just enough, he watched Arsa join him in the relaxed position, laying next to him and, most of all, against him. Revan turned his head away quickly, being sure that the other man couldn't see his face as he broke out a broad smile. Was it a blush that rose in his cheeks, or just his muscles being so unused to smiling like this? Definitely the latter, he concluded, yeah...
It'd been forever since Revan had felt such a thing, such comfort from physical touch, at least something that lasted. He relished in it for the moment that he was turned away but swiftly tried to compose himself. He forced his expression to drop just enough, though unable to contain his smile, and exhaled slowly. Casually, Revan shifted his front paw nearest Arsa to fold under his chest; a position he often assumed, although this time he hoped his intention wasn't obvious - an excuse to lean against his best friend more.
Red eyes glanced over to the beige fur lighted by pinks and oranges. Arsa seemed to have his head in the clouds, Revan thought with a warm smile. Following his gaze to the skies, perhaps he wasn't all wrong, either - shifting over so softly, the clouds above them seemed so close. A blanket of silk, it seemed, with waves reminiscent of the ocean doused in the colors of the sunset. Revan spoke so softly, that he leaned over to make sure Arsa heard him, brushing his spiky cheek fur along his just barely. "It brings to mind when we had met on the beach." What had that place been called, Lawyer Ridge? For the moment, he was too entranced to recall the name. It did, however, serve as the perfect opening for the subject he wished to share. "Do you recall that pack that we were in?"
His gaze lowered to the male, and he caught those ochre, sparkling eyes - they caught the oranges of the sun perfectly, he noted. Not to get distracted, he gave a subtle nod before gazing back out to the darkening valley. Arsa didn't have to respond for Revan to know he was interested, and he liked that; if there was no need to speak, then there's no need to waste breath. "There's this group in the valley," He began, hesitating as he tried to remember what it was called. "A guild, I believe. I met the leader." Revan glanced back over to his companion without shifting his head. How would he take this? "She described it to me, trying to recruit as they always do," he scoffed, "but, it seemed... Intriguing."

[googlefont=Montserrat:400,800|Cardo:400][nospaces] we're all just stars colliding imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsastarscolliding"] “It brings to mind when we met on the beach,” said Revan who had looked up to the skies. The clouds shifted with the ether, each passing second morphing into a shape entirely different from before or staying the same, following the wind current. He was right. The memory of being back on that beach during a spring downpour came flooding back to him, as it often did, and it was as though he were reliving it. The sensations felt real again; the impression of sand under his paws, salty mist in the air, gentle waves crashing against the shore. The feeling of absolute contentment, where nothing else mattered, and his worries could be dragged away with the tide. And while they were on no beach any longer, Arsa felt no different.[break][break] Suddenly Revan asked if he recalled the pack they were in. His eyes stared at his face for a moment before he turned away in contemplation. Of course, he remembered, how could he not? Lawa Ridge, while short-lived, gave him momentary purpose. But Arsa wondered why he had brought it up, perhaps to follow up his comment about the beach? He yearned to ask but figured he would have his questions answered soon since it seemed his best friend wasn’t yet through with talking. Soon enough, it came. A group — a guild, more specifically, and he met its leader. Revan certainly had the beige man’s full, absolute attention now, if it were even possible. His big head shifted to look him in the eyes again, his own somewhat widened. It came as a pleasant shock, but only raised more questions.[break][break] She tried to recruit him? But it seemed interesting nonetheless? Arsa had to take a moment to consider what Revan was saying, implying. He was interested, evidently, but by what. What piqued his curiosity. Was this guild truly so captivating? Unfortunately, Arsa could only associate negative connotations with the word ‘guild,’ due to his own unsavory experiences as a guild member once, but he would be damned to share that now. There was something he wanted to share and deterring him from doing so with his own input was the last thing Arsa would do. Besides, he knew better than to automatically conjure preconceived notions about something, especially if it concerned Revan. He knew (mostly) how he thought; he wouldn’t bother with bringing something like this up if he believed it to be nothing more than a waste of time. So naturally, it interested Arsa as well.[break][break] “Who are they?” It was the only question he could ask, one that would convey his curiosity in the most simple, rawest form. He was able to hear the hesitance in his companion’s voice as he talked but was unable to discern why. Many questions were circling his head that he wanted answers to, but he knew there was only so much Revan could answer. we're after the same happily ever after [newclass=.arsastarscolliding b]color: white; font-weight: 800; text-shadow: 1px 1px 2px black, 0 0 0.5em white;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding i]color: #666f75; text-shadow:1px 1px 3px black, 0 0 0.5em black;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding u]color: #aaa[/newclass]

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley For the most part, Arsa was silent. Revan had paused, waiting, and waiting, to see how he would react and to read his thoughts on the subject as best he could. Perhaps the man was simply considering, but whatever prolonged contemplation he was going through only made Revan more hesitant to continue. Where was he going with this, after all? He had come here so eager to share this knowledge with his companion, so… hopeful for a little change, a little break from this aimless wandering. How foolish. There was no guarantee that whatever idea his mind had been toying with would sit well with his companion, after all, and he would never commit to anything that would go against Arsa.
"Who are they?" Finally, Arsa inquired. Though Revan was reluctant to continue for a moment, perhaps he could just backpedal and forget about it all? But, that sounded more idiotic than the proposition he had prepared since meeting that guild woman. He believed in finishing what he started, after all.
"They're a guild," he deadpanned, as if that hadn't been made obvious already. "Evidently some diverse group for rogues and loners; able to continue on with their lifestyle whilst also honing their skills and specialties by being hired on assignments." He relayed the information Ember or Hinder or whats-her-face had given him as best he could - albeit not very well, most likely, given his horrible memory for small details. He tried his best, though, and hoped his wording would be just as intriguing to Arsa as it had been to him when the leader of the guild explained it. For him, it was the prospect of having a job that caught his attention most. Having something to distract him from his brooding meandering, and without the cost of having some leader boss him around on how to do his job, when to be back at the pack camp, all the things he was still saucy over from Lawa Ridge? It sounded like an opportunity that would be a shame to pass up. But, would his companion feel the same?
"It is…only a fleeting thought," the dark man spoke again, his voice gruff with contemplation. He rarely thought about the words he said, but this time, he wanted to speak his mind well. Red eyes cast to his paw outstretched in front of him, he finally asked: "but, would you ever be interested in joining another group?"

[googlefont=Montserrat:400,800|Cardo:400][nospaces] we're all just stars colliding imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsastarscolliding"]Small brown ears swiveled gently in the cool breeze, a stark contrast to the earlier heat that wrought the valley. His attention was fully focused on the man beside him, his expression tensed in curiosity, but also a little bit of concern. Arsa was reading Revan’s face closely, noticing every twitch or lick of hesitancy. He wanted to worry; ask him what was bothering him so, but he managed to shut off his mind, his only goal now to listen. Revan repeated that they were a guild and all those negative feelings came flooding back to Arsa, if only momentarily before he pushed them all down with an internal, hidden fury. Those feelings were not necessary; the past was the past. All that mattered was right now.[break][break] Revan continued. Specialties… hired on assignments. Arsa remained quiet as he processed the new information. It sounded all too familiar, the way in which this guild worked. But he couldn’t get over how much his friend was intrigued by them. He had always known him to be the loner type, even during their time in a pack. It made Arsa want to meet this leader even more.[break][break] The final question was asked: would he be interested in joining another group? Silence passed for a moment or two, but it didn’t take nearly as long for Arsa to make a final decision in his head. As he laid on the cool rock of the ledge, his back pressed against his best friend’s — the solace he felt, he didn’t have to think twice. “Fleeting as it may be, but life changing decisions can be made on a whim,” he said softly, eyes returning to Revan’s. “And I think I’ve decided mine.” A warm smile reached his lips, a telling one. “I’ll go where you go.”we're after the same happily ever after [newclass=.arsastarscolliding b]color: white; font-weight: 800; text-shadow: 1px 1px 2px black, 0 0 0.5em white;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding i]color: #666f75; text-shadow:1px 1px 3px black, 0 0 0.5em black;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding u]color: #aaa[/newclass]

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley More silence. Horrid, indiscernible silence. Revan kept steady eyes on his front paw, the other still tucked beneath his chest, and only dared a glance over to his friend once. Of course, there was no need to rush, but by all means, Arsa, please hurry it up.
Finally, the still moment was broken as Arsa spoke. Revan listened, head turned just enough to keep the man in his peripheral, a sharp ear swiveled towards him. "I'll go where you go." His soft words stayed with Revan for a moment, as it was his turn to bring silence between them. It was... sweet, he thought. Only one being had ever wanted to follow him anywhere without using him or simply out of compliance, and instead just to be with him. He felt a fondness swell up in his chest: content, pride? Almost bashful, making a smile pull at the corner of his lips and red eyes cast to the side. He didn't know how to respond, and though he knew somewhere in the back of his mind that he shouldn't ruin the moment, it was the only thing he could think of.
"Hmph. Likely a grave mistake," He chuckle-huffed, a jesting tone to his quip. There, bury it all with sarcasm and wit, that's better. Perhaps it was selfish, but the dark man didn't even stop to ponder the idea; how brushing off something so sentimental could turn out poorly in the long run. And just as selfishly, he didn't consider that Arsa may just be attempting to please Revan rather than himself. He was intrigued by this guild, and he would admit, he wanted to pursue the idea. Taking the soft words his companion spoke as permission granted -- not that he thought he needed permission from anyone, but, he still did want to know Arsa's thoughts -- he continued on with more confidence.
"I would appreciate looking into this guild, at the least," Revan informed, a slight smile gracing his features as he gazed out to the darkening horizon. "Perhaps it is a mistake, but tickle me curious--" that phrase was all wrong, but that's how it was used...right? "--I remember the location where I had met the leader; perhaps, she is still within the area, and we could search for her there." Red eyes turned to look at his companion, expectance on his face. It felt good, to have some goal in mind, and the prospect of having a goal each day within a respectable group teased his mind. But of course, ever the pessimist, Revan would not get his hopes up. Speaking aloud to reassure both himself and his friend- "If push comes to worse, we will leave. And fight anyone who dares try to stop us." Revan smirked. Mm, violence.

[googlefont=Montserrat:400,800|Cardo:400][nospaces] we're all just stars colliding imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsastarscolliding"]The air felt somewhat… tense, not necessarily in a skin-prickling way, but he could sense Revan’s impatience radiating off of him like heat on sun-beaten sand. Arsa subtly passed him an apologetic look as he turned to face him slightly, observing his dark face as he was seemingly registering what he had just said. I’ll go where you go. There wasn’t a shadow of doubt or hesitance in his words as he meant every one of them. He didn’t care where he went or how he got there, as long as he had his best friend at his side, he felt as though he could face almost anything. Revan’s slight reaction didn’t slip past his watchful eyes either, as he caught the way his ruby eyes and stoic countenance shifted.[break][break] “Hmph. Likely a grave mistake.” Came his reply, one within expectation, but nevertheless, it prompted a cheeky smile from Arsa. It was possible he would never grow tired of his snarky but good-natured comments, as he knew what Revan was like so that brief touch of playfulness always roused fondness in him. He still had Arsa’s undivided attention despite the silence that filtered in, now occupied by a chorus of the night, their forms draped in the moonglow. He continued with confidence that almost captivated the beige man.[break][break] The look of determination was far from unfamiliar on Revan, but to think it was aimed towards the prospect of pack entry was enough to internally baffle Arsa, if not endear him. He was putting in the effort to join a group again despite how much he and group life didn't always harmonize. There was something more to this guild and there was no way Arsa wasn’t going to give it a chance.[break][break] Revan’s botching of the phrase caught Arsa off guard. While he couldn’t entirely remember the correct phrase himself, the silly rephrasing coming from a man like Revan was enough that he had to stifle a blooming chuckle from deep down. Angling his nose away, he repressed a smile, eyes cast down in hopes he couldn’t be heard. Reining in his facial muscles he turned towards him again, pressing his nose against the side of his mane and blowing through his nostrils to ruffle the shorter fur of his neck. He wasn’t sure if it would actually tickle him but he hoped it would serve as a light teasing regardless. All the while a repressed smile remained on his lips, straining enough that his eyes creased with silent mirth.[break][break] After a moment, Arsa inhaled, more controlled, “I guess we will have to search this leader out then. I must say, your enthusiasm has thoroughly... tickled me.” Another chuckle. There was no denying he felt much lighter about the whole idea, his previous worries being swept away by the passing breeze. At the comment about fighting anyone who got in their way, Arsa could only shake his head in amusement. “I doubt fighting will be necessary. It’ll do no good if you injure them because someone will have to patch them up.” It was a harmless jest at a possibility that was slim to none, as far as he was concerned.[break][break] “I’m... excited.” He admitted, his tone solemn but light. “Why don’t we seek her out as soon as possible?"we're after the same happily ever after [newclass=.arsastarscolliding b]color: white; font-weight: 800; text-shadow: 1px 1px 2px black, 0 0 0.2em white;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding i]color: #666f75; text-shadow:1px 1px 3px black, 0 0 0.5em black;[/newclass] [newclass=.arsastarscolliding u]color: #aaa[/newclass]

[googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley As he was speaking, Revan's pointed ears had perked upwards to the trilling hoot of an owl, calling from somewhere in the forest just below. Until, he heard the most faint of snickering, and the ear nearest Arsa swiveled to capture it. A sound which simultaneously brought him a feeling of joy and bafflement. He took a quick glance at his companion, with his sharp brows screwed in a quizzical manner. Was it something he said? But he couldn't have said anything wrong, and surely not mispronounced anything, his speech was impeccable. He concluded that Arsa was, in fact, simply a strange and endearing man, and just as ruby eyes slid away did his peculiar friend reach over and ruffle the fur on his nape. Revan leaned away with his head at a comical angle, and his lips pulled back as if threatening to bite, but the way the corner of his mouth pulled up in a grin said otherwise. And that grin only widened as he paused, committing to memory the way that Arsa's smile touched his eyes. He liked that, being able to bring such a genuine smile to his friends face. With an indignant huff, Revan shook out his mantle to dislodge that feeling of misplaced fur, though he couldn't shake the smirk that remained on his dark face.
A master at repressing his emotions, Revan quickly regained composure as he listened to Arsa speak. Briefly he stuck out his tongue at the man's reference to tickling, in the very mature way that he always handled things. But, Revan couldn't deny, Arsa wasn't wrong. His level of intrigue surprised even himself. After all, shouldn't he had learned by now that him and pack life just didn't get along? Maybe he could be called a glutton for punishment, going back to the same old situation that would inevitably end in humiliation, just like last time. But... dare he hope, maybe this group not being a 'pack' but instead a 'guild' would be the change he needs. "It is likely foolish," He admitted, but not without a subtle sigh. "But, I believe that I need...something. I have been wandering all of my life, and admittedly, it gets old." To be fair, he would still be wandering if he did join this guild thing, if he had understood their leader correctly, that is. "Not so much the nomadic lifestyle, but instead the aimless drifting. And, I do not expect you to follow me through with this," He glanced over to his friend, his expression a might softer. "I do not wish to guide you into my idiotic life choices." Or, in other words, he was a dumbass and would lead anyone who followed him through moronic trepidation. For a moment he wondered if Arsa would still be his greatest friend, had he seen some of the foolish things he had done in the past. Revan chuckled to himself at the thought, a deep, warm sound. Nevertheless, he wanted to share this with his friend. After all, it was hard to imagine his life without Arsa, now, and to be honest he didn't even want to try. But, he made sure to remind himself that he needed no back-up if he jumped into this. If this guild proved unsuitable, then he would leave, simple as that. And if anyone tried to stop him, well, it would be their mistake, to say the least.
“I doubt fighting will be necessary. It’ll do no good if you injure them because someone will have to patch them up.” Revan huffed through his nose once more, amused. He couldn't say he was surprised. In fact, he could bet that Arsa would take the time to mend the enemy if they truly needed it, ever the caring soul that he was. Revan, personally, couldn't quite understand it, but that didn't stop him from admiring it - despite his teasing jests. "Sounds like your problem, all I must do is win." He said with a smirk.
“I’m... excited.” Revan turned to the larger man with a smile then, his face a stark contrast from the dark and gloomy expression he typically wore, and instead held something light in his eyes, almost childish. To say the least, he was glad that he had intrigued Arsa, his expression saying for him that he was just as eager. Maybe cautiously peeking from the years of walls he had built up around that part of him that could hope, but still, eager, curious. At Arsa's suggestion Revan gave a sharp nod of agreement. "Yes, I would prefer it to be done promptly. Tomorrow?" He truly did hate to waste time, after all, and the sooner that they confronted this idea, the less time they would have to spend building up what could be a false hope.
"This is Revan speaking. This is Revan thinking which is dangerous. Moon don't glow beneath these trees small words :) Abyss

[googlefont=Montserrat:400,700|Cardo:400] [attr="class","arsastarscollidingquote1"]we're all just stars colliding [attr="class","arsastarscollidingquote2"]imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsastarscollidingtext"]Arsa watched with endearment as Revan’s lips pulled back in a faux threatening manner, and he himself even feigned shock at the—nonexistent—risk of potentially being bitten for ruffling the man’s voluminous, soft mane. It never failed to surprise him at how soft it always seemed despite how jagged and coarse it looked. He failed to contain the suppressed smile as it spread onto his pale muzzle, enough that even his canines peeked from underneath black lips when he saw Revan’s own little smile. His smile, brief as it was, lowered into a subtle frown as Revan spoke again. He delayed not a second after he finished to softly shake his big head, closing his eyes, and pressing his forehead to the side of the other man’s neck. What he explained felt all too familiar to Arsa, and as he stayed still for a moment, he could feel his chest tighten. Gently he shook his head again, forehead still pressed to his copper fur. “We deserve so much more than what we have.” Though he considered himself a minimalist, it had grown difficult to remind himself that there was so much more out there than what was just in front of him. Believing that seeking change would only lead to dead ends and unfulfilled feelings. But, he had anchors that could ease those rigid, habitual thoughts. “Needing more isn’t foolish. Hoping isn’t foolish.” He said, his voice a whisper. He knew it too well, with how often he put his faith in intangible or seemingly unattainable ideas. “It can be scary. A leap of faith, I guess we could call it.” Finally, he removed his forehead to look at his companion. The moonlight reflected in his eyes the heavy emotions he felt. “Things will happen. They may fall through. Whatever is on the other side, or at the bottom, I can face it with confidence, because you are at my side, just as I am at yours.” Looking away, his eyes found the moon. “So making the jump doesn’t have to be so scary.
It makes me unbelievably happy you want this change for yourself. Even with the prospect of failure staring ever so strongly at you, you press forward. It is admirable, and I am proud of you.” With a quiet exhale he offered Revan a gentle nuzzle on the neck, a smile prominent. “After all, I won’t be rid of so easily.” He teased, his tone lighter and less solemn. "Sounds like your problem, all I must do is win." Arsa scoffed at the comment but smiled with amusement. He hummed as if deep in thought. “I don’t doubt your capabilities.” he quipped. He could not miss the smile that crossed his best friend’s face. It gave him reassurance. Revan suggested they begin their search tomorrow, to which he gave his own nod. “Perfect. You read my mind. At dawn, we can split up to cover more ground.” He paused as his smile turned into something teasing. “Try not to cause any trouble. I would like to leave a good impression on her.” A little giggle. [googlefont=Cinzel Decorative] REVAN Sun won't shine down here in this valley The sudden pressure against his neck was unexpected, a sheer difference from the playful touches from before, and it stilled Revan to the point of his breath pausing. He waited in acute silence, but what Arsa said came as no less of a surprise. ”We deserve so much more than what we have.”
You do, Revan thought. But me? Surely not. He had already gotten all that he deserved. For all his hostility and all his misfortune, he could hardly expect life to grant him riches. And even still, somehow he still had more than he could ask for - he had Arsa. A friend who cared about him and understood him, and most of all someone who puts up with the majority of his bullshit. Someone who doesn’t judge his poor memory or scorn him for being so ill-tempered. Someone that he could return to after days of lonesome wandering, someone he could call home. Someone who hadn’t turned their back on him yet.
”Needing more isn’t foolish. Hoping isn’t foolish.” Revan had to swivel an ear to catch the faint words leaving his companion's lips. He listened intently, gaze set ahead, allowing Arsa to continue. And when he lifted his head from the cushion of his fur, Revan turned, eager to catch those ochre eyes as if they could explain all the meaning behind their owner's words. It hardly made sense to him, and he found himself following Arsa’s gaze to the moon, lost in thought. Hoping was foolish, or, so he thought. Every time he had once hoped for something, it had never come to fruition, or he had succeeded and it had been ripped from his grasp soon after. He had adopted a sense that such youthful ambition would do nothing but hurt him in the end, and when he found himself hoping for something, even if vaguely, he trained himself to remain pessimistic. That wasn’t to say he wouldn’t try obtaining what he wanted, but he wouldn’t dare let himself be hurt should it go south. But, what if he was wrong? Was he a cowered to hide behind the walls he had built up? Perhaps Arsa being at his side was the only reason he was willing to take this leap because otherwise he would be too scared, and chalk it up to him and pack life just not getting along.
He turned to Arsa as he spoke again, his sharp brow creased with reeling thoughts. He was happy. Proud. All because he was taking a step toward change. Did that mean he was a coward, then? Why else would Arsa be proud of him if he wasn’t doing something extraordinary? Revan wasn’t sure if this was a compliment or an insult, but he assumed that his best friend would never intend the latter, and he himself would much rather be determined than cowardly. ”Perhaps it is you by my side that gives me the confidence to do so,” The dark man finally spoke, his tone held neutral. He wasn’t sure how to feel; he certainly had a lot to think about. ”I… hope this goes well.” He tried. And he ‘hoped’ that it wouldn’t come around to bite him in the ass.
”After all, I won’t be rid of so easily.” These words paired with a gentle nuzzle provoked a chuckle from Revan, deep and warm, his thoughts lighter. Revan pivoted his head to rest his nose against the bridge of his friend’s muzzle, a small show of affection before he jested, ”Just give it time.” and quickly nipped at his muzzle - gentle so that his teeth barely even grazed fur - before pulling back and turning away, a devilish sheen in his red, squinted eyes, touched by a smirk.
Revan gave a sharp nod at the confirmation. They had a plan set and it put it into action come early morning, something that made him content. It was good to have a goal, no matter the outcome or how short-term it could be; in that regard, Arsa was correct. “Try not to cause any trouble. I would like to leave a good impression on her.” For the last time this night, Revan stilled, his lips pursed as he stared to the side like a child caught lying. ”In that case, I should warn you that I met their leader by stealing food from them.” He informed casually. Revan stood then, dipping into a lean stretch, and turned so that his body was facing the opposite of Arsa’s. ”Don’t worry about it. I’m going to sleep.” He knew that his friend would, in fact, worry about it, but before he could be questioned he unceremoniously plopped himself against the man’s back, curling into his regular ball with his hind legs tucked under his front. As he lay his head down, a small, mischievous smirk remained present on his dark face.

[googlefont=Montserrat:400,700|Cardo:400] [attr="class","arsastarscollidingquote1"]we're all just stars colliding [attr="class","arsastarscollidingquote2"]imagine all the colors shining [attr="class","arsastarscollidingtext"]Hearing his best friend’s gruff voice say how he hoped it goes well was reassuring, something he heard not often — something he heard from himself too often. It gave him comfort nonetheless, something so slight and small to ease the overwhelming worry, like standing under an umbrella in the midst of a downpour. They were in the midst of change but at least they could face it side by side, under their little umbrella. When he felt Revan rest his nose against his own, he stayed still, an eye fluttering shut as if expecting him to follow the tender gesture with something playful. Like clockwork, Arsa felt the lightest of nips on his muzzle and he couldn’t contain the smile that took over his face, eyes creasing from the ticklish sensation. “Just give it time,” Revan said, at which he shook his head. “I give everything my time. You are no exception and you will never be an exception.” He said with assurance, moving his blue nose to tap playfully against the copper cheek fur of his companion who had turned his head away. From the corner of his eye, Arsa saw the expression Revan had after he said not to cause trouble. He paused, the briefest looks of concern flashing over his fine features. As he opened his mouth to inquire, his companion beat him to the punch. ”In that case, I should warn you that I met their leader by stealing food from them.” His breath got caught in his throat as his ochre eyes widened. The casual delivery only added to the legitimacy to his statement. He was silent for a moment, processing his words, his eyes still following Revan’s form as he stood to reposition himself. “You did wha—” ”Don’t worry about it. I’m going to sleep,” came his voice again. “Wait—” The look of confusion and concern only twisted itself further into his features as all he could do was gape helplessly at Revan, who plopped down next to him and curled up into a ball so tight it was as if any further thing Arsa said would bounce right off of him. He wanted to set up to face Revan properly, but the man was now leaning against his back, and he didn’t want to remove that bit of warmth. He sighed with a defeated, albeit still confused smile. Perhaps, his questions could wait until morning. It was evident Revan was no longer going to answer any of his questions, and Arsa knew it was probably on purpose. With another shake of his head he laid it down on his paws stretched out in front of him, eyes flitting to the form beside him, a fondness in them. Before closing them he moved his tail to rest gently around Revan.
